Hi, I’m Vee

I’m a mom, a sister, a school bus driver, and a homebody who somehow always has about twelve things going on at once.

I love my homestead, my animals, cooking, baking, decorating for basically every season and holiday that gives me an excuse, organizing the house, finding a good deal, and sharing things that actually make everyday life easier.

Vee’s Gathered Life is pretty much exactly what it sounds like — all the different pieces of my life gathered together in one place.

Some days that means goats and chickens.

Some days it means dinner, cookies, or way too many canning jars covering my table.

Some days I’m changing pillow covers because apparently my house needs a completely new personality every time the calendar changes.

And some days I’m sharing a shirt, pair of shoes, kitchen gadget, or random find that I genuinely think is worth having.

It may not all fit into one perfect little box.

Neither do I.

And I’m completely fine with that.

Life on the Homestead

A little piece of the garden — one of the places where there is always something growing, changing, or needing attention.

Animals are a huge part of our life around here.

We have goats, chickens, dogs, cats, a rabbit and plenty of chores that somehow reproduce overnight.

Homestead life is definitely not always the cute version you see online.

There is mud. There is poop. There is always something that needs cleaned. There is usually an animal standing directly where I am trying to work.

And there are days when you wonder how something you cleaned five minutes ago already looks like nobody has touched it in a month.

But I love it.

I like sharing the real side of it — what works for us, what doesn’t, things I’m learning, everyday routines, funny moments, and whatever new problem the animals have decided I need to solve.

Because apparently they like to keep me humble.

From My Kitchen

I love cooking and baking.

Especially when the weather gets cooler, a holiday is coming, family is getting together, or I just decide the house needs to smell like something good.

You’ll find the food I actually make here.

Not recipes that require seventeen ingredients I have never heard of and three pieces of kitchen equipment I don’t own.

Comfort food. Holiday food. Baking. Family meals. Canning. Kitchen favorites. And whatever else I happen to be making that week.

If it tastes good and the people I love will eat it, I’m interested.

Home, Holidays & Organization

Home is where a lot of the cooking, organizing, decorating, and everyday chaos happens.

This is probably where my inability to leave the house alone really shows.

I loveeeeeee decorating for the seasons.

Fall, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Valentine’s Day… give me a reason to change the pillow covers and I’m there.

I want my home to feel cozy, comfortable always!

Do I already have blankets? Yes.

Do I need another soft one because it happens to be the perfect color for fall? Absolutely.

If there is a holiday coming, there is a very good chance I am decorating for it.

I also love organizing and deep-cleaning everything when the seasons change. There is something about changing the house over that feels like a fresh start to me.

And I am always looking for ways to make things easier, prettier, more organized, or more comfortable without spending a fortune doing it.

Because I love nice things.

I just also really love finding them for a good price.

Yes, I really do love going all-in for the holidays.

Fashion & Favorite Finds

I like clothes that are cute and realistic for actual life.

Cozy fall tops. Leggings. Sweaters. Winter layers. Holiday shirts. Shoes I can actually walk in. Accessories. And everyday things that make getting dressed a little easier.

I’m also a bargain hunter, so if I find something I love for a good price, you are probably going to hear about it.

Same goes for home products, kitchen finds, organization stuff, homestead things, or anything else that earns a place around here.

I don’t want to share something just because somebody is selling it.

I want to share the things I would actually buy, use, wear, or recommend to somebody I know.

I’m Definitely Not Picture Perfect

I want to make one thing very clear around here: I do not have it all together.

Not even close.

Life gets crazy. The house gets messy. Plans change. Things go wrong. I forget stuff. I have flaws, quirks, bad days, and plenty of moments where I wonder what in the world I’m doing.

And I will never come on here and pretend otherwise.

You are not going to get some perfectly staged version of my life where the house is always spotless, every meal looks amazing, the animals always cooperate, and I somehow have everything figured out.

Because that is not my life.

And honestly, I don’t think that is most people’s life.

This blog is simply me sharing what I think, what I love, what I’ve learned, and what works for me and my life.

Sometimes that might be something I’ve learned on the homestead. Sometimes it might be a recipe we love. Sometimes it is a product that has genuinely made something easier. Sometimes it might just be something completely random that I think somebody else would enjoy too.

I am not here to tell anyone that my way is the only way or even the best way.

It is just my way, and if something I share helps somebody else, gives them an idea they hadn’t thought about, saves them a little time or money, or makes their day a little easier, then I’m happy.

What I Hope This Little Corner of the Internet Can Be

More than anything, I hope Vee’s Gathered Life can be a light in somebody’s day.

Maybe you come here and learn something useful. Maybe you find an idea you want to try. Maybe you discover something that makes your home or everyday life a little easier.

Maybe you see one of my disasters and think, ‘Well... at least I’m not the only one.’

Or maybe I just make you laugh for a minute.

I’m good with all of those.

I have always been pretty much an open book. I love talking to people, sharing ideas, helping when I can, and learning from other people too.

I don’t want this to feel like I’m standing on one side of a screen talking at everybody.

I want it to feel like people are sitting around the kitchen table talking about life.

Sharing what worked. Sharing what absolutely did not work. Laughing at ourselves. Helping each other.

And reminding each other that none of us have to be perfect to have a really good life.

If something I share brings people together, helps somebody feel a little less alone, gives someone a new idea, or simply puts a smile on their face, then this blog is doing exactly what I want it to do.

And Then There’s Just... Life

Not everything I want to talk about fits neatly into a category.

And honestly, I don’t want it to.

One day I might be talking about baby goats.

The next day it could be cookies.

Then fall decorations.

Then something funny that happened while driving the school bus.

Then I’m organizing a closet at 9:00 at night because apparently that suddenly became extremely important. (ADHD I tell ya...)

That’s life.

And that is really what Vee’s Gathered Life is about.

Home. Family. Animals. Food. Holidays. Changing seasons. Things I love. Things I’m learning. Things that make life easier.

And plenty of chaos mixed in because there is absolutely no avoiding that around here.

So if you’re looking for picture-perfect... you probably landed on the wrong blog.

But if you like real life, good food, animals, cozy homes, random ideas, useful finds, laughing at yourself, and people simply trying to help each other along the way, then I think you’ll fit right in.
